The Core Council at Marymount Manhattan College was established to coordinate the efforts among the six (6) major student organizations on campus to increase the engagement of the general student body, and to serve as a unifying voice to better address issues affecting the student body. To do so, the Core Council steadfastly works towards:

- Establishing, coordinating, and publicizing the activities of the member organizations
- Assisting the College's administration in attaining its student engagement objectives
- Maintaining student involvement, advocacy, and inter-council relations
- Encouraging student leaders and organizations to maintain involvement within the college community at Marymount Manhattan College

The Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department Club of Representatives is a group of motivated dance students who strive to create a fulfilling and positive experience for all MMC Dance Majors.

Our mission is to:

Create a dialogue between the dance students and the dance faculty in an effort to foster direct communication and establish mutual goals for the betterment and integrity of the Department.
Bring issues of concern to the Student Government and the College at large that have a direct impact on the quality of student life in regards to academic and student events' scheduling, course offerings, and facilities management.
Increase opportunities for the dance students and/or dance faculty to convene and socialize outside of the classroom experience through Dance Department functions.
Raise funds that will benefit Dance Department student events/projects and students in financial need.

Dead Rabbits Society is Marymount's premiere sketch comedy team. We produce three shows in a semester that showcases original content written, directed, and performed by students. Our sketches range from the silly and weird, to the political and pop culture-savvy.



Our team members are encouraged through their love of comedy to build their writing and performing skills in the form of sketch theatre, and establishes habits of responsibility by balancing commitment to both the club and their academic standing in the College. If you're interested in joining our team, yearly auditions are held at the end of September, with no experience required!

Hillel at Marymount Manhattan College's purpose is to promote the advancement of Jewish students and the Jewish community at Marymount Manhattan College. This means first and foremost we create a safe space for our members to hold discussions about antisemitism present and past that is based on the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance's working definition of antisemitism. It also means that we teach students how to navigate antisemitism in our communities (MMC, NYC, and beyond!). Second is that we provide a fun, comfortable way for students to celebrate Jewish holidays, even when they are not home. Through our celebrations of Jewish tradition, we invite non-Jewish members of the MMC community to join us in order to learn about their Jewish peers and of course sample mouthwatering Jewish cuisine! Our final priority is to help our members develop their Jewish identity through our events and to take pride in their Jewish heritage!

This group is dedicated to International Student Life. A large part of international student life is our Cultural Peer Mentors. Cultural Peer Mentors (CPMs) are student leaders who help new international students become acclimated to Marymount Manhattan College and to the larger New York City community. Those selected to become CPMs will undergo training by College staff to gain the skills necessary to enable them to serve as resources for international students. CPMs interact with new international students to provide them with a clear understanding of MMC life and opportunities while encouraging their involvement in the College community. They are role models, advisors, and friends, but most of all, they are students themselves who care about helping their classmates from abroad integrate seamlessly into college life.

Marymount Community Outreach is an organization that unites all Marymount Manhattan students,
giving the opportunity for students to raise awareness on campus on community service

MMC hopes to tackle issues such as poverty, environmental issues, immigration, animal
welfare, homelessness, and children and youth.
The fundamental purpose of the MMC is to educate others on communities that need

Marymount Community Outreach desires to help students reflect on community service work they

1. Meetings– General member meetings will be held to discuss ideas for events and aid with the execution of club events.
2. Events –Several events outside of regular club meetings, with the purpose of allowing students who are not able to attend the monthly club meetings, along with those that are, to enjoy programs that are Disney themed. Neuroscientific knowledge is a constantly developing tool for a better understanding of oneself and others. Neuroscience is a means to explore the scientific basis for human behaviors, beliefs, and experiences, and learning neuroscientific concepts can add an inestimable amount of enrichment to someone's life, whether they choose to formally study the subject or not.
Because of the countless benefits of even a layman's understanding of neuroscience, it is of utmost importance that the Neuroscience Club becomes an official club recognized by Marymount Manhattan's SGA.
Within the club, students will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss specific neuroscientific concepts and research within a cohort of students that are similarly scientifically-minded. Within this cohort, students will additionally have access to information concerning research, internship, and work opportunities should their passion for neuroscience lead to do so. Although the current executive office is composed of neuroscience, biology, and/or psychology majors, inclusivity towards students that aren't in the natural sciences department is another priority of the club. This will manifest in fundraising, social, and educational initiatives that are accessible to any interested Marymount student.
Resultingly, MMC's official Neuroscience club will serve as a statement of the growing interest in neuroscience as an area of study, formal or otherwise, within MMC's student body.

We are here to provide a fun, safe, accepting, exciting and respectful environment for people who share an interest, passion, love and enjoyment for performing, listening and learning a cappella and music. We are a safe and respectful group for our members, their needs and our rehearsal space. We are an open and accepting group who will allow anyone and everyone to audition to become a member. Our members will be treated with the utmost respect for giving us their time and attention. Any acts that are hurtful, disrespectful or rude (between members or an officer and a member) will not be tolerated and will be brought to an officer's attention to further discuss the incident. (Possible probation, not being allowed to perform in a show or possible expulsion from the group are potential punishments depending on the severity of the act.) We value diversity, acceptance, camaraderie and fun. We are a unique group as we are currently MMC's only musical ensemble. We are dedicated to using the talent and energy the student body has to turn this into an amazing a cappella group that will hopefully live on for many years at MMC.

Mission: The Pre-Health Club is an organization made for people who have an interest in future careers within the medical field and allied medical fields. PRISM is the new name for the LGBTQIA+ focused registered student organization at MMC. Previously the Gender and Sexuality Studies (GSS) Club of Marymount Manhattan College, PRISM is an extension of the GSS Student Advisory Board. Our new name affirms a space and purpose for our community.

The mission remains the same – to advocate, amplify, and support the Queer community and to maintain safe spaces for the Queer community at MMC. It is critical that the LGBTQIA+ community has representation, support, and dedicated space within student leadership. It is also vital to create a community of passionate students to benefit and improve the community through working with the Intercultural Center.

Sigma Tau Delta, International English Honor Society, was founded in 1924 at Dakota Wesleyan University.

The Society strives to

Confer distinction for high achievement in English language and literature in undergraduate, graduate, and professional studies;
Provide, through its local chapters, cultural stimulation on college campuses and promote interest in literature and the English language in surrounding communities;
Foster all aspects of the discipline of English, including literature, language, and writing;
Promote exemplary character and good fellowship among its members;
Exhibit high standards of academic excellence; and
Serve society by fostering literacy.
With over 880 active chapters located in the United States and abroad, there are more than 1,000 Faculty Sponsors, and approximately 9,000 members inducted annually.

Sigma Tau Delta also recognizes the accomplishments of professional writers who have contributed to the fields of language and literature.

SGA is a member organization of the Marymount Core Council.

The Student Government Association (SGA) is the main governing body for student concerns and student representation. It is comprised of an Executive Board, Student Senate, and Divisional Representatives.

Clubs and organizations are also affiliated with the SGA through the allocation of club budgets which is overseen by the SGA Treasurer. The organization is advised by the Office of the Vice President for Student Affairs and is housed in the Student Organization Suite in the Main Building, room 302.

SGA has a threefold purpose:

To broaden the base of student involvement in the College to enhance school spirit.
To enable students to gain leadership qualities needed to run the government body effectively. Broadening the base of student involvement means not only increase the numbers of students involved in the Student Government but also equally as important, it means having the diverse range of students represented in and through their Student Government.
To fight for students' rights and improve school policies.

What is The Monitor?

The Monitor is Marymount Manhattan College's student-run digital newspaper that releases new pieces weekly. We focus our stories on the student body - how these stories affect them, how these stories are about them, how we feel about the school, etc.

MMC's The Monitor has a circulation of 1,000 and a shared readership.

MMC's The Monitor is funded through the Student Activity Fee supplemented by generous, local businesses purchasing ad space.
