Join us on Wednesday, November 1 to explore the importance of Emotional Intelligence. Nava Silton, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychology at MMC, will dive into the basics of Emotional Intelligence. Christine Gregory, Esq. will discuss her experience using Emotional Intelligence to build her company, Harmony Global Foods. Breakout Sessions by Improvolution (Improv), Shefalika Gandhi, Mark Cutolo, and Hayden Greene. The Student Government Association will round out the event with an Open Forum to hear from students.

Please register for each event you would like to attend. Keynote registration and attendance is required in order to attend the lunch.

This program is brought to you by the Office of Career and Professional Development, the Counseling and Wellness Center, the Office of Student Development and Activities, and the Intercultural Center.

Emotional Intelligence Symposium: Keynote & Lunch

Join us from 11:00am - 12:00pm to explore the importance of Emotional Intelligence. Nava Silton, Ph.D., Associate Professor of Psychology at MMC, will dive into the basics of Emotional Intelligence. Lunch will be provided to those who attend the Keynote session. Panera sandwiches and salads will be served. Please provide any diestary restrictions during your registration.

Emotional Intelligence Symposium: Breakout Session 1

During this breakout session, students will choose to attend one of three mini-workshops to attend from 1:00pm - 1:30pm. These sessions will repeat during Breakout Session 2. 

Got a Story to Tell? by Hayden Greene
Each of us has a story to tell and encapsulated in them are our identities. Come hear Hayden's story and learn how YOUR story tells the world all about who you really are. 

Making an Impact through Compassionate Leadership by Shefalika Gandhi, LCSW 
A mindfulness workshop to learn ways to strengthen physical and emotional resilience.

Radical Acceptance by Mark Cutolo, LCSW
Our lives don't always go according to plan, which can lead to fear, worry, and uncertainty. This workshop will focus on how practicing radical acceptance can help us to feel better, manage our emotions, and promote change in our lives.

Emotional Intelligence Symposium: Improvolution Session

Improvolution is an Improv School based in New York City. They teach classes as well as Improv Trainings for schools and companies across the country. Join this session to work on your improv skills, strengthen your ability to communicate, and learn to build relationships using Emotional Intelligence on the fly!

If you choose this breakout session, you will not attend another session during this time frame. This workshop is a full hour. There is a cap of 25 students for this session.
