  • Student Government Association Candidate Application 2026-2027

    <p><strong>Election Process</strong><br /> <br /> The following candidate requirements are currently written in the Student Government Association Constitution:<br /> <br /> This election shall be held no later than the first full week of May. The 2026 &ndash; 2027 SGA elections are scheduled for April 14, 2026 to April 15, 2026 from 9:00 am to 4:55 pm/ ET<br /> <br /> A. Only students with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 shall be eligible for elections. Must be in good academic and judicial standing. GPAs will be verified by SDA.<br /> <br /> B. Must serve in the SGA for one academic semester to apply, and have your name on the ballot for President and Vice President. All other positions do not have this requirement. Note that all students may run for all positions, including President or Vice President, as write in candidates.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> C. Must be available for in-person meetings on Mondays at 1:00pm &amp; e-board meetings. &nbsp;<br /> <br /> D. Must attend the Student Leadership Awards on Friday, May 1, 2026 at 6:00pm in the Commons to be sworn into office. If unable to attend, clearance must be given by the Office of Student Development and Activities.<br /> <br /> E. Must attend Leadership Immersion Weekend the first weekend in October. &nbsp;If unable to attend, clearance must be given by the Office of Student Development and Activities.<br /> <br /> F. Agree to serve as an advocate for the entire student body.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> G. All students may run for open positions as a write in candidate.<br /> <br /> <br /> <strong>Campaign Guidelines</strong><br /> <br /> All election campaigning begins Monday, April 6, 2026 at 9am, and ends Sunday, April 12, 2026 at 4:55pm.&nbsp;<br /> Each candidate may not spend more than $200 for campaign materials or advertising, including donations.<br /> If candidates receive donations, the donor must provide to the candidate, proof of cost for the donated items.<br /> Receipts and donation letters must be submitted to the Office of Student Life via email, C/O Stephanie Tovar, by Monday, April 13, 2026 by 12:00pm.<br /> All posters, flyers, or other information posted about the candidate must be approved by the Office of Student Development and Activities. Flyers may only be placed on approved posting areas.<br /> Social media campaigning should be kept professional, and in no way should candidates badger student voters.&nbsp;<br /> Candidates are not permitted to slander or degrade any other person running for any office.<br /> Candidates with any questions regarding the campaign or process should contact the SGA Advisor Crys Mobbs cmobbs@mmm.edu<br /> <br /> <u><strong>Application Process</strong></u><br /> The completed online application form must be submitted by Friday, March 27, 2026 by 4:55 p.m. SDA will notify students of clearance to campaign on Monday, April 6th. All incomplete applications, or applications submitted after the deadline will not be accepted. Students who do not meet application deadlines are eligible to campaign as a write-in candidate, but must follow all campaign guidelines. Write-in candidates must receive a minimum of 50 votes to be elected.</p>

    <p>Election Process<br /> <br /> The following candidate requirements are currently written in the Black and Latinx Student Association Constitution:<br /> <br /> This election shall be held no later than the first full week of May. The 2025&nbsp;&ndash; 2026&nbsp;BLSA elections are scheduled for April 15, 2025&nbsp;to April 16, 2025&nbsp;from 9:00 am to 4:55 pm.<br /> <br /> A. Only students with a cumulative GPA of at least 2.5 shall be eligible for elections.<br /> <br /> B. Must serve in the BLSA for one academic semester to apply, and have your name on the ballot for President and Vice President. All other positions do not have this requirement. Note that all students may run for all positions, including President or Vice President, as write in candidates.&nbsp;<br /> <br /> C. Must be available on Tuesdays from 1:00 pm &ndash;2:20 pm for in-person on campus BLSA meetings. &nbsp;<br /> <br /> D.
