The America’s Least Wanted is an improvisation troupe here at Marymount Manhattan College. Our goal is to provide a new brand of entertainment for the student body at Marymount. By responding to suggestions and input from our fellow students we shall tailor our performances to fit the tastes of our audience.

We are separated from the other performance troupes at Marymount by our desire to bring unscripted entertainment to the stage and involve the audience in our shows. This makes us original, exciting, and destined to succeed.

The Marymount Manhattan College Dance Department Club of Representatives is a group of motivated dance students who strive to create a fulfilling and positive experience for all MMC Dance Majors.

Our mission is to:

Create a dialogue between the dance students and the dance faculty in an effort to foster direct communication and establish mutual goals for the betterment and integrity of the Department.
Bring issues of concern to the Student Government and the College at large that have a direct impact on the quality of student life in regards to academic and student events’ scheduling, course offerings, and facilities management.
Increase opportunities for the dance students and/or dance faculty to convene and socialize outside of the classroom experience through Dance Department functions.
Raise funds that will benefit Dance Department student events/projects and students in financial need.
We believe this can be accomplished by applying the values of respect, honesty, humility, dedication, and hard work. We are an organization designed to improve the quality of life for the MMC dance major.

Mission
Dead Rabbits Society is Marymount’s premiere sketch comedy team. We produce three shows in a semester that showcases original content written, directed, and performed by students. Our sketches range from the silly and weird, to the political and pop culture-savvy.



Our team members are encouraged through their love of comedy to build their writing and performing skills in the form of sketch theatre, and establishes habits of responsibility by balancing commitment to both the club and their academic standing in the College. If you’re interested in joining our team, yearly auditions are held at the end of September, with no experience required!

The purpose of this organization shall be to promote the advancement of Jewish students and the Jewish community at Marymount Manhattan College, to share Jewish culture and rituals both with Jewish students and the larger student body, and to combat antisemitism in and around our community. We aim to combat antisemitism on campus as the term is outlined in the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s working definition of antisemitism, to spread positive knowledge and awareness about Jewish people, Judaism, and the State of Israel throughout the MMC community, and to help empower Jewish students to become increasingly in touch and take pride in their heritage.

Marymount Community Outreach Mission Statement

Marymount Community Outreach is an organization that unites all Marymount Manhattan students,
giving the opportunity for students to raise awareness on campus on community service
opportunities in the local community.
MMC hopes to tackle issues such as poverty, environmental issues, immigration, animal
welfare, homelessness, and children and youth.
The fundamental purpose of the MMC is to educate others on communities that need
service the most; raise awareness on any marginalized communities; to help others acknowledge the impact that community service as on their communities and organizations.
Marymount Community Outreach desires to help students reflect on community service work they
complete; to connect with the individuals and communities they assist.
Overall, we want Marymount Community Outreach to become a platform for students to be vocal on
any issues they want to take on and feel passionate about; to help, educate, and inspire one another; to highlight the impacts left on other individuals and communities, as we try to strengthen our communities with our community service work.

The purpose of the Mickey Mouse Club shall be to encourage inclusivity by utilizing Disney magic as an outlet to give students the opportunity to connect with their Marymount community.

1. Meetings– General member meetings will be held to discuss ideas for events and aid with the execution of club events.
2. Events –Several events outside of regular club meetings, with the purpose of allowing students who are not able to attend the monthly club meetings, along with those that are, to enjoy programs that are Disney themed. (e.g. Not So Scary Halloween Party, Employer Pop-Ups, etc.) These events are open to all students, but the target audience is members of the Mickey Mouse Club.
3. Activities –Activities are programs that are open to the entire school that are targeted towards the specific needs of Marymount students. (e.g. Disney themed Fun ‘til 1 Tables)

Mission
Neuroscientific knowledge is a constantly developing tool for a better understanding of oneself and others. Neuroscience is a means to explore the scientific basis for human behaviors, beliefs, and experiences, and learning neuroscientific concepts can add an inestimable amount of enrichment to someone’s life, whether they choose to formally study the subject or not.
Because of the countless benefits of even a layman’s understanding of neuroscience, it is of utmost importance that the Neuroscience Club becomes an official club recognized by Marymount Manhattan’s SGA.
Within the club, students will have the opportunity to learn about and discuss specific neuroscientific concepts and research within a cohort of students that are similarly scientifically-minded. Within this cohort, students will additionally have access to information concerning research, internship, and work opportunities should their passion for neuroscience lead to do so. Although the current executive office is composed of neuroscience, biology, and/or psychology majors, inclusivity towards students that aren’t in the natural sciences department is another priority of the club. This will manifest in fundraising, social, and educational initiatives that are accessible to any interested Marymount student.
Resultingly, MMC’s official Neuroscience club will serve as a statement of the growing interest in neuroscience as an area of study, formal or otherwise, within MMC’s student body.

The purpose of this organization shall be to promote creative content creation here at MMC. This club will serve as
an opportunity for MMC Students to use their industry standard television studio to its fullest effect in the following
ways:
• Explore and define all roles in a professional television production environment
• Development of Certain Skills/Departments through ample opportunities for Hands-On Experience
• Develop professional techniques, practices, and procedure for a working television production environment on both sides of the camera
• Working to diversify and expand on technical and creative skills including, but not limited to; directing, writing, producing, technical direction, cinematography, audio mixing, and floor management.
• Work to be Included on Students Professional Reels
• Develop a complex understanding of the television industry and various techniques on how to appeal to specific audiences/demographics

The NDEO Student Chapter provides students interested in dance and dance arts education the chance to:


Implement mentorship programs with incoming freshmen or local high school-aged students interested in dance and dance education.

Administer the National Honor Society for Dance Arts program.

Sponsor guest teaching artists and other activities for members.

Make connections with the community organizations to offer dance workshops or classes.

Raise money to benefit local dance charity programs.

Organize advocacy efforts for dance education within the college and city/state level.

We are Marymount Manhattan College’s co-ed a cappella group On A Side Note. We are here to provide a fun, safe, accepting, exciting and respectful environment for people who share an interest, passion, love and enjoyment for performing, listening and learning a cappella and music. We are a safe and respectful group for our members, their needs and our rehearsal space. We are an open and accepting group who will allow anyone and everyone to audition to become a member. Our members will be treated with the utmost respect for giving us their time and attention. Any acts that are hurtful, disrespectful or rude (between members or an officer and a member) will not be tolerated and will be brought to an officer's attention to further discuss the incident. (Possible probation, not being allowed to perform in a show or possible expulsion from the group are potential punishments depending on the severity of the act.) We value diversity, acceptance, camaraderie and fun. We are a unique group as we are currently MMC's only musical ensemble. We are dedicated to using the talent and energy the student body has to turn this into an amazing a cappella group that will hopefully live on for many years at MMC.

Mission: The Pre-Health Club is an organization made for people who have an interest in future careers within the medical field. Our goal is to impact the community by participating in various charities and creating our own charitable events, donations, and learning more about the medical world. The club is open to anyone who is interested in the field or in the general well-being of people.

The Pre-Med club will invite guest speakers from various colleges to explain the application process as well as discuss different medical research, different organizations, etc. In addition, we will also have organized events, take part in volunteer work, go to conferences, attend lectures and overall get acquainted with being a part of the medical community.

PRISM is the new name for the LGBTQIA+ focused registered student organization at MMC. Previously the Gender and Sexuality Studies (GSS) Club of Marymount Manhattan College, PRISM is an extension of the GSS Student Advisory Board. Our new name affirms a space and purpose for our community.

The mission remains the same – to advocate, amplify, and support the Queer community and to maintain safe spaces for the Queer community at MMC. It is critical that the LGBTQIA+ community has representation, support, and dedicated space within student leadership. It is also vital to create a community of passionate students to benefit and improve the community through working with the Intercultural Center.

Why PRISM?
A PRISM in essence is multidimensional, just as we are. Through a prism, we are presented in a multitude of lights and shapes, which mirror the intersections in which we exist. We use the prism as a representation and reminder that we come in all shapes/forms/experiences, we continually evolve and grow, that there is room for all of us to belong, and that our light always shines bright through us.

This will provide members and the whole student body with new ways to approach their health by exploring niche medical practices such as somatic awareness, movement therapy, specialized therapy, etc. through our resource center. The members of this organization will help maintain the Rehearsing Wellness webpage and create events for the whole student body and themselves.

The Webpage will provide a forum and resource center for performing artists that would like to focus on their mental, physical, and emotional health. This will provide members and the whole student body with new ways to approach their health by exploring niche medical practices such as somatic awareness, movement therapy, specialized therapy, etc. through our resource center. Also, students studying sciences will be exposed to and can explore new career paths in the health field involving the arts, such as art therapy. Also, students studying visual arts may help us maintain the webpage, students studying politics and human rights will be able to speak on and learn about critical issues in the performing arts careers, and students studying English or journalism can help us review and edit blog posts and resources that they are interested in. Students will also be able to share stories and personal journals about their experiences in the performing arts world and connect with their peers through the blog and forum. Here members can find support and advocacy for prominent issues they may feel passionately about in the world of Performing Art Health. Finally, events we plan to host throughout the year will be open to the entire student body and will expose them to many new areas of health practices. We plan to have art therapy classes and therapeutic dance classes, educational health seminars from professionals, town halls for the whole student body about their health, and fundraising events for various art health centers. We believe we can create a space for health-focused student projects and create a movement towards better health care practices for artists and students alike.
